Termite Removal

The Eastern Subterranean termite is one of the most common termite species found throughout the United States. These termites live underground in large colonies and can enter homes through cracks in foundations, expansion joints, and other small openings. Because they are widespread and can attack many types of wood, they are a common cause of termite damage to homes and other structures.

A mature Eastern Subterranean termite colony can contain hundreds of thousands of termites. They constantly search for sources of wood and other cellulose materials to feed on. Once they find a food source, they can establish mud tubes between the soil and the structure, allowing them to travel back and forth while staying protected from the open air.

These termites can cause serious structural damage if they are allowed to remain undetected. They may feed on floor joists, wall studs, sill plates, and other wooden parts of a home. A common sign of an infestation is the presence of narrow mud tubes along foundation walls or other surfaces. If you find mud tubes or suspect Eastern Subterranean termites are damaging your property, it is important to have the problem inspected and treated before the damage becomes more extensive.
